Confirmation at Saint Brigid Catholic Church - Program Requirements

The Archdiocese of Atlanta asks that candidates for Confirmation attend at least two years of foundational religious education before enrolling in the Confirmation program. At Saint Brigid, this 2-year preparation requirement is usually met by participation in the Saint Brigid Middle School Program (EDGE) on Sunday evenings, OR by attending full‐time Catholic school)
Program Timeline
  • Registration:  Registration begins in Spring of 8th grade and continues into Fall of 9th grade.
  • Winter/Spring of 9th Grade: Catholic Foundation classes are held in the winter/spring of 9th grade   (full‐time Catholic school students are not required to attend these classes, but it is highly encouraged)
  • Summer Between 9th/10th Grade:  Formal Preparation for Confirmation includes a week‐long “Confirmation Camp” program in the summer. ALL candidates attend this summer formation program, regardless of the high school they attend.
  • Fall of 10th Grade:  Candidates also attend a Day of Reflection and Sponsor Program in the Fall.
  • The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in November of 10th Grade.

Age Guidelines:   Confirmation is typically received in 10th grade, but any teen up to the age of 18 can participate in this program and receive Confirmation.  Current 10th and 11th grade students are welcome to register!

Register soon as Classes begin on Jan. 29, 2017
