What is the Mass and the Eucharist and Why Should I Participate?

In response to your request for an enhanced understanding of the Mass from our Synod results, we are offering both open and ministry-based forums to discuss and reflect on the Mass. Jesus established the Mass exclusively for you and He invites you to a deeper personal relationship with him.
Jesus instituted the Eucharist as a means for Him to be continually supportive and present to us. The Mass and the Eucharist, remind us of who He is and what He has done for us – that is, offered His life and death for our salvation. The Mass also enables us to intimately integrate our lives with His. We are to be transformed during the Mass to better fulfill our mission in life. The Mass and the Eucharist are the very center of the Catholic Faith. Catholics attend Mass for many personal reasons. Many come to be close to God. Others come out of obligation and habit.
