Message of the Week

Great is Your Faith, Let it Be Done Unto You as You Wish

Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The reflection focuses on the Gospel story of the Canaanite woman who persistently begged Jesus to heal her daughter. Despite obstacles and apparent rejection, she continued to cry out to Jesus in faith and humility. Jesus ultimately praised her faith and granted her request.

God invites us to bring our deepest needs to Him, even when answers seem delayed. Jesus healed the woman’s daughter not because of her emotional pleas, but because of her steadfast faith. The woman’s belief that even a “scrap” of Jesus’ mercy would be enough demonstrates profound humility and confidence in God.

St. Teresa of Ávila encourages us to ask God for great things and trust in His generosity.

When facing difficulties, don’t give up in prayer.  Like the Canaanite woman, approach Jesus with humility, perseverance, and faith, trusting that He hears your needs and responds according to His wisdom and mercy.

What will you ask God for today?
