Cantors

Cantors lead the Psalm and Gospel Acclamation at Mass; they also sing the Communion Antiphon and its psalm verses. Cantors also assist in leading the singing of the congregation when there is no choir or other vocal ensemble filling that role.

At Saint Brigid, Cantors must participate in a musical ensemble such 4HG, Choir, or Journey of Praise. They are chosen by interview and audition with the Director of Music. They should be proficient at reading standard (i.e. modern) musical notation; ability to read neumes is a big plus. Contact Jonathan Eason for more information.
