What is a Sensory Friendly Mass?
There is softer music, readings from the Children’s Lectionary, shorter, more literal homily, and pictorial resources for those with special needs. Families are encouraged to bring materials that can assist with comfort during the liturgy: noise canceling headphones, wiggle seats, fidgets, ect.
Who should attend?
All are welcome! Many people can benefit from the less stimulating and stigma-free environment, including those with sensory processing issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities and adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
