Adopt A Family – Knights of Columbus and Catholic Charities

You can still help by sharing this ministry with a family member, friend, or co-worker.  Recruit our next sponsor through your work, bible study, club group, sports team, or post on Facebook.   If you haven’t had a chance to sponsor yet, seize the moment and email Sharon or Matt & Jolita.

All gifts should be dropped off at the Saint Brigid parking lot on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7th, between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m

To anyone considering participation, WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Our parish has made a commitment to Catholic Charities to provide gifts for 371 families this year.  We are happy to report that all small families have been sponsored, but 54 large families still need our assistance!

If you are willing to take a 5, 6, or 7, person family, we can help with the financial responsibility by providing the food gift card, if needed.  We also have several families available with no bike requests.

Please specify family size and special requests to Jolita McGee @

(Please estimate (2 to 3 gifts)  $ 75- $ 100 per child for gifts and $25 per family member gift cards.)

We will respond with a wish list for the family, packing instructions, and a tax receipt.  THANK YOU!

In partnership with Catholic Charites,  the Adopt a Familyprogram…..

has consistently sponsored 400 underprivileged families each year!  Saint Brigid will provide gifts this season for families from two parishes:  St. Anthony’s, located in Atlanta, and St. Bernadette in Cedartown.  With your help again this year, we look forward to providing a meaningful Christmas to hundreds of families!

All of the families taking part in the program have completed a need-based screening process administered by Catholic Charities.  After qualifying, the head of each household completes a wish list of gift ideas.  We will email the wish list, along with other pertinent information, to you once you have contacted us with the family size you are interested in.

If any of your children need service hours, they can help load the trucks on drop-off day, Thursday, December 7th.  You may also join us on Saturday, December 9th to unload and distribute gifts at one of the receiving parishes mentioned above.    Thank you and God bless!
