Monsignor Reynolds Charity Challenge – May 10, 2021
The Men of Saint Brigid plan to host the 22nd annual Monsignor Reynolds Charity Challenge on Monday, May 10 at the Country Club of Roswell. The Early Bird registration process for Golf and Tennis renewals begins on January 11. Registrations for new golfers and tennis players will begin on Monday, February 8, subject to availability.
It Takes a Parish
We feel so blessed to be able to host this event in 2021. The money raised will go to the ministries and charities we support. Their work never takes a break and the funds raised are always put to great use by the loyal and caring volunteers. All Day – Be Smart + Stay Apart
The 22nd Annual Monsignor Reynolds Charity Challenge (MRCC) is scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Country Club of Roswell. We made many adjustments to the event to create social distancing and provide a safe environment for you to enjoy the day. Please be sure to read everything below.
All Day – Event Schedule
- 9:00 am – Mass at Saint Brigid
- 10:00 am – Golf Registration and Golf Range Open
- 11:00 am – Marlow’s serves burgers and chicken sandwiches
- 11:45 am – Opening Prayer by Father Neil Herlihy
- 11:50 am – Carts roll to assigned golf holes
- 12:00 noon – Golf Shotgun Start
- 2:00 pm – Tennis Registration opens
- 2:00 pm – Pickleball Clinic (beginners)
- 3:00 pm – Tennis & Pickleball begin
- 5:00 pm – Après Wine Tasting begins
- 5:30 pm – Food Stations open (Dine-In or Take-Out)
- 6:30 pm – Putting Playoff
- 7:30 pm – Event concludes
Arrival – Temperature Scans
When you arrive, please stay in your vehicle and follow directions of volunteers. Our sponsor, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, will administer mandatory temperature scans. If all passengers in your vehicle pass, then you simply advance to the Bag Drop area and then the parking lot. If someone tests above normal, stay in your vehicle then MRCC volunteers will discuss refund options with you.
Arrival — Swag Bags by Lily’s Pharmacy
SWAG stands for “Stuff We All Get”. Thanks to Lily’s and several sponsors, all Golfers, Tennis Players and Pickleball Players will receive a free swag bag. For Golfers, the bags will be placed on carts. For Tennis and Pickleball Players, the bags are at the courts.
Clubhouse – Locker Rooms Open
Men’s and Women’s locker facilities are available before and after athletic activities.
Clubhouse – Masks a Must Inside
While inside the clubhouse, we are asking everyone to keep social distance and to wear a mask. Spend as much time outside as possible and save the hugs and handshakes for next year.
Clubhouse – Registration Options
Golfers are encouraged to pre-purchase “Mulligan” packages online. Likewise, Tennis players are encouraged to pre-purchase “Add-In” packages ahead of time. Pickleball players can buy a “Rally” package in advance. Doing so will limit interaction at the Registration desk and expedite the process.
Evening – Dine-In or Take-Out
There will be multiple food stations throughout the clubhouse with “fork-friendly” options. You may Dine-in or Take-Out, boxes and supplies will be available.
Evening – DJ & Video Boards
DJ Dan-o will update the crowd on Golf, Tennis and Pickleball results, make announcements and crank tunes. Video boards in the ballroom will scroll messages and display sponsor recognition.
Evening – Tickets for Food + Fun, etc.
A very limited supply of Evening tickets is available due to social distance guidelines. Buyers may participate in the Wine Tasting, Food Stations and Evening Activities beginning at 5pm.
Evening – Putting Playoff – 6:30pm
Get outside and enjoy evening activities. The 6:30 pm start time is approximate based on the pace of play for 18-hole golf
- The top 6 finishers in the Putting competition will have another chance to compete for a prize on the practice green.
- All are welcome to “jeer” them on!
Evening – Social Distance Seating
For your safety, tables and seating will be available throughout the entire clubhouse, both indoors and outside. The main bar will be located inside the ballroom.
Evening – Wine Tasting by Delicato Family Vineyards – 5pm
The popular Après Wine Tasting will take place on the outdoor Azalea Deck beginning at 5pm. A variety of wine samples will be served.
Golf – 9-Hole Option at River Pines
Sign up for “Nine, Wine & Dine” to enjoy 9 holes of non-competitive Golf at River Pines. Tee times begin at 2pm. When Golf is over, transition to CC Roswell to take part in the Wine Tasting & Dinner. “Nine, Wine & Dine” is perfect for casual golfers and especially couples!

Golf – Personalized Hole Sign
If you buy a FAB Foursome, then your group will have a hole sign…designed by you…located near #18 tee. The group will pose for a photo and take the hole sign home. A unique souvenir and cool keepsake. All FAB Foursome members will be emailed the photo with your personalized hole sign prominently displayed!
Golf – Hydration by the Coca-Cola Company & Jekyll Brewing
Before heading to play Golf, make sure you cart is stocked. The ” Beverage Boys” are ready to help. They will stock and re-stock the two Hydration Station on the golf course. Be sure to stop by Jekyll Brewing on #14 for insights on craft beers. Tennis players will have a big cooler at the courts to keep everyone hydrated.
Golf – Lunch by Marlow’s
Marlow’s staff will grill burgers and chicken filets for all golfers. Seating is outdoors.
Golf – Outing Format
This co-ed event is a Step-Aside Scramble with contests for Putting, Longest Drive (M&W), Closest-to-the-Pin and Hole-in-One. Prizes are awarded to teams in first-to-fourth place and Golf Genius tracks scoring in real time.
Golf – Ride Share
Each golf cart will have a plastic divider to separate riders. Please consider taking turns walking alongside the golf cart. Both bags can stay on-board, but ride sharing will help create even more space.
Golf – Shotgun Start – 12 noon
The Shotgun start for Golf will take place at 12 noon. That is an hour earlier than prior years and allows plenty of time to enjoy our evening activities before dark. Sunset is 8:28pm.
Pickleball – Clinic for Beginners – 2pm
A new sports activity added to the MRCC is Pickleball. Since we expect players of all abilities to participate, we encourage novice players to participate in a one-hour clinic to sharpen your skills and learn the scoring system. A round robin for all Pickleball players will follow beginning at 3pm. Pickleball capacity is limited to just 32 players this year. Prizes are awarded to players based on levels of ability. Pickleball is on sale now.
Tennis – “Add-In” Package
The Tennis Add-In package has been a popular component of the tennis activity the last few years. It is offered as part of the tennis renewal process now. The Tennis Add-In package includes:
- Tennis competition, contests and drills
- Wine Tasting & Dinner

Tennis – Presented by T2 Tennis – 3pm
Tennis capacity is limited to just 36 players this year. The outing involves 2.5 hours of court time with professionals supervising drills, contests and friendly competition. Prizes are awarded to players in the A & B levels of ability.

For the first time, tennis players can pre-purchase an all-inclusive package at a discount and in one online transaction.
Support – Donations – The Matching Fund
Please go online to make a donation to the Saint Brigid Day School. Accumulated donations up to $5,000 will be matched and double the funds raised. The money will be used to provide scholarships to needy families, thus allowing their kids to begin their Catholic education due to the generosity of fellow parishioners.

The silent auction will begin on April 26 and offered exclusively online this year. The format is Buy-It-Now, so when your bid is accepted…you win. Check here for more information as we get closer to April 26.

All Payments for Gold, Tennis, Pickleball, Evening Activities, Wine Tickets and//or Make a Donation or Miscellaneous payment. All payments for Golf, Tennis, Pickleball and Evening Tickets are refundable should you be unable to participate. Please notify us quickly to allow substitution from our Waiting Lists.
